Atlanta native, Chef Phil is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chef Phil is now an entrepreneur and executive chef that owns his own catering and bakery company.

CalosCo’s Catering was founded in November 2010 and out of the company’s vision, in August 2013 CalosCo’s Bakery was established.

I got a chance to ask Chef Phillip a few questions.

1. What do you love most about what you do?

I love the idea of being my own boss. I decided when I graduated from Culinary Arts School that I wouldn’t work for anyone in this industry forever. I learned as much as I could from other restaurants, then I felt like it was the time to take a jump and be an entrepreneur.

2. Tell me about “Bite Cha Back Boxes”. How did this service and name come about?

“Bite Cha Back” Boxes were established when I thought of a way to promote and find other ways for financial balance during the week when there wasn’t any catering events booked. I started delivering school lunches to teachers because they don’t have time to go get anything and enjoy. The phrase “Bite Cha Back” was created by myself only being creative and trying to think of something no one else has done.

3. Do you plan to open a restaurant in the future?

Yes I will have a restaurant one day but I want that to be the very last thing I do because I want to have as much experience as I can, financially ready and a very known chef in this industry.

4. Out of all the catering services that you off, what’s your favorite?

Right now my favorite is Intimate Private Dinners. I love creating memories for couples!

5. What impact has social media had on your business?

Its had a great impact in just one hour and I have to thank my videographer and photographer Michole Kemp “@micholekemp”. She really taught me ways to promote and receive followers.

6. What’s your favorite cuisine to prepare?

My favorite cuisines are between Asian & Mexican

7. What’s next for you and your business?

I’m trying to look into purchasing a food truck and also becoming a Traveling Chef for NFL Players and other clients.
