It’s Been 20 Years Since T.I. Released His Debut Album, “I’m Serious”

Fresh and original story telling from the South is what Atlanta rapper, T.I. brought twenty years ago when he released his debut album, I’m Serious.

The debut album was released on October 9, 2001. Featured artists on the album included Beenie Man, Jazze Pha, Pharrell, and more. I’m Serious made its debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart at number 98, and it debuted at number 27 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Collaborating with producers like DJ Toomp and The Neptunes for majority of the album, the sound was unquestionably diverse. The album was T.I.’s lowest selling album to date, but it made way for the infamous Trap Muzik album.
