Cooking since the age of 7 and later gaining interest in the food industry, 24 year old Aunjahlic Lanier of Alabama is the owner of Lucy’s Sweets, Treats, & More.

When I was about 5 years old my grandmother would always have me in the kitchen watching her. From boiling rice, making any type of soul food, to shucking peas. I was burned at the age of 2 years old when I was trying to help my aunt cook. I was being greedy and couldn’t wait til she was done. Now I have a war wound on my chest and face from cooking.
How did you come up with the name Lucy’s Sweets & Treats?
The name came from my deceased grandmother Lucy B. Lewis who happened to teach me mostly everything I know about cooking. Her and her mother Willie B. Windham were very big on cooking meals. I would sit and watch or even ask to help sometimes.
What’s your speciality? What do your customers request the most?
My specialty is seafood, party foods & soul food. My customers often order seafood and wings. Also my special made grape salad which is one of my biggest sellers.
What all services do you offer?
I cater to services such as family events, baby showers, work place events, birthday parties, and much more.
What’s next for your business?
Coming soon I will have my own food truck where I will travel to different locations and expand my business. Later I would like to have restaurants across the world serving the needs of others in different states
What’s something you’d like your supporters to know?
Something I’d like for my supporters to know is that I really love and appreciate each and every one of them. So far they all have made my business successful. I hope to continue to bless their taste buds with amazing sweets, treats, and foods!
I’d also like to add that my biggest supporter is my fiancé, Terrell Steele. He has almost purchased everything I needed to start my business and to my children, Elijah and Titan are my taste testers. Currently most of my clientele comes for Aliceville, Alabama. My biggest helper and employee is my aunt, Connie Jones
