In an interview with Xscape member Kandi on her YouTube show On That Note, singer Nivea didn’t hold back much about her past romance with Lil Wayne.

According to Nivea, Wayne had an interest in her after watching the video for her 2002 hit single, “Don’t Mess With My Man.” The Cash Money rapper reached out to Nivea’s record label and scheduled a meeting for a collaboration.

“He said, ‘I don’t wanna do a song with you. I just want your number,'” she recalls.

Nivea also added that Wayne convinced her to leave the music industry and be in a relationship with him. “He said, ‘Come be with me, I got you,'” she recalls.
