Go Vegetarian Restaurant [REVIEW]

I love meat. Real meat. Chicken, fish, beef, turkey. Meatless meat has never been my thing. After trying it numerous times, the taste or texture never compared to the real thing. Neither did I find it tasty or enjoyable.

I recently discovered the restaurant Go Vegetarian sitting off in the corner of a shopping plaza in the North Druid Hills area of Decatur. After much procrastination and putting it off, I finally found the time to stop in. I honestly was not expecting the food to be god to me. That is what took me song long to try it.

Let’s just get straight to the point. My thoughts were wrong!

I tried the smothered fried chicken with a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of collard greens.

The chicken tasted just as good as the real thing. No chewy and rubbish texture like most meatless meats. It was also seasoned to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was just okay for me. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t the best, but it did taste better after I added salt. But the greens… They were the best collard greens I had ever had. And they were not even cooked with or seasoned with meat. As I’m typing this, I am actually wanting to stop in to get a side to go with some leftover chicken for lunch tomorrow. The collard greens from Go Vegetarian are great.

I also had dessert. I had the apple pie and ice cream. I wish the apple pie would’ve been warmed. It’s served cold. I wasn’t a fan of the ice cream. It was my first time having vegan ice cream.

The atmosphere inside of the restaurant was nice and so was the customer service.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal. I will definitely be back. Probably before the week is over. The food is good enough to make even me consider going vegan.
