For The South With “Rich Auntie” Vibes

After releasing a well received project titled Truth Be Told in 2014, underground female emcee, B For Better took a break from the music scene. During the decade long hiatus from recording and releasing music, the Mississippi veteran and self proclaimed “Queen of the Sipp” grieved the loss of her grandmother and dibbled and dabbled into other creative endeavors such as doing nails. After a lengthy hiatus, which seems to have been only an intermission, the return to the mic has been well welcomed and much needed for both Bea and her fans.
Around Christmas of 2023 and her 31st birthday, Bea realized that the female rap game is wide open and that it was time for her to get in the studio. She told herself that she would promote her music like she promoted her nail tech work.
On November 11, 2024, B For Better released her latest project, Rich Auntie. When asked about why that title, she replied, “I don’t even have a niece or nephew. I’m just about business and I keep it real. I’ll put you in your place. The children gravitate towards me. I’m bringing good energy like the auntie that will line all of the kids up to give them $1. That’s the energy I’m bringing.”
B For Better recently won Female Artist of the Year and Freestyler of the Year at the 2024 Mississippi Gulf Coast Music Awards. Her live performance of her hit single, “What’s The Point Freestyle” on Famous Animal TV has gone viral with over 500k views on YouTube and over 8k shares on Facebook.
“I’m excited about music. I feel it in my heart this time. I deserve to be on top like GloRilla and Megan. When I rap, my talent is in my pen. I got the looks, but not even using them.”
