Meet Jeanette of Ms. J’s Cafe
in Fosters, Alabama

Cooking since the young age of 9, Jeanette Prevo Davis of Ms. J’s Cafe is still going strong in the kitchen almost 50 years later.

Jeanette was raised by her grandmother, Johnnie Mae Prevo in Selma, Alabama who taught her how to cook. Being the only girl in a house full of boys, she was responsible for cooking and cleaning.

She taught me how to cook everything under the sun. From southern dishes to wild game dishes, plus baking scrumptious pies and cakes. I learned how to cut up chickens, fish, pigs and take the skin and fry for Cracklings. When I got older I wanted to be the owner of a restaurant where people can come and enjoy a good home cooked meal. My dream is still to one day own a retirement home for the elderly and I would cook their meals daily.

Prevo received her Culinary Arts Degree from Virginia College Culinard School-Birmingham. She graduated April of 2010 at the top of the class. She was employed with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority House as an Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager. She went to school the first half of the day and worked the other half of day.

In April of 2016, Ms. J’s Cafe was established. A southern style cafe serving delicious favorites and great hospitality.

My daughters Trinicia and Candance came up with the name MS. J’s. They wanted my name to be a part of the business naming. I have always had a passion for cooking. I feel that it’s my purpose here on Earth.

The most popular dishes at Ms. J’s Cafe are the southern fried catfish, homemade coleslaw, burgers, and of course the wings with homemade sauces.

Something Ms. J said that she’d like all of her guests to know is

That Ms. J loves what she does. Cooking is a passion and that I cook everything with LOVE. I enjoy talking with my customers and getting to know them and their families. I consider them to be my FAMILY and I appreciate all of their support.

Ms. J’s Cafe and Catering is located in Fosters, Alabama at 13303 US HWY 11. Available for dine in, carry out, and catering.
